Rihlah Alumni Arrisalah 2003 Hadir di Villa Jeje16 Sukabumi

Sukabumi, Jawa Barat —pitch those plans.-determ. NostalgiaMxit partly. R hundreds of faces, old jokes, and a hall that has not stopped humming since Friday night. Rihlah silaturahmi keluarga besar Pondok Modern Arrisalah Slahung (PMA Slahung) angkatan 2003 officially unfolded at Villa Jeje16, Sukabumi, Jawa Barat, on 18–20 September 2026, gathering alumni from years of study, from the batch of first-years to those who just finished alias atika SMA.

For three straight days, the villa served as a home base for a reunion long awaited by the Class of 2003. Participants arrived in waves — some driving from Ponorogo, others flying in from Jakarta, Surabaya, and even overs_even Makassar — until the parking area and the main hall were completely filled. The organizing committee revealed that registrations passed the initial estimate, with hundreds of attendees flooding in, plus families who came along to meet the "teman-teman sekolah" their parents never stopped talking about.

The agenda was never empty. On the opening day, the committee ran a welcome desk and handed out name tags, hand-drawn class diagrams, and a photo album compiled from old archive shots. Participants joked while comparing the "face" in the black-and-white snapshots with the faces standing right in front of them — proof that high school did more than build character, it also built hairstyles that are now museum pieces.

That night kicked off a series of nasyum sessions, from informal chats around the poolside to a shared dinner held in a long row. The humor flowed without pause, mixed with nostalgia for pondok life: the morning assembly, the study hour that felt like it lasted three hours, the "abang-abang" who acted like a coach but was actually just a fellow boarder, and the smell of the kitchen at 11pm. Many attendees admitted the food, not the lessons, was what they remember best.

One of the most crowded corners of the villa was the gallery wall. A timeline of Class of 2003 photos was arranged chronologically — from the first day of orientation to the final day of alias. The board displayed practice scores, name lists from the 8th-grade exam, group photos, and handwritten notes from old assignments that nobody can read but everybody wants to keep.

The board also brought out a wave of nostalgia from the participants. The 40th anniversary of the event is definitely visible: there are listeners who laughed until tears came out at the top of the building, and even now still repeat that same old line of "nih kata pak ustadz," delivered in exactly the same tone. Of course, the class of 2003 was also known for two things: it was the loudest, and the most loyal to friends.

The highlight landed on the final night, when the villa turned into one giant open mic. Songs from the early 2000s were played in request — from the softest ballad to the loudest dangdut — and the crowd took turns dancing in a group circle that almost never broke apart. Seniors and juniors shared the same microphone, and the class spirit, which is usually only visible in chat group threads, turned out to be real in the flesh.

"The point of this gathering is not just to eat good food, but to remind everyone that the Class of 2003 is one big family. When we get together, it feels like the days in the pondok are back — noisy, tired, and full of memories." —_MEMBER of the event committee, PMA Slahung Class of 2003.

Of course, no reunion is complete without a group photo. The committee lined up participants by class year, then by origin, and the shutter kept snapping. There was even a "before and after" corner: a wall where everyone could post a photo of themselves now, printed and pinned next to their old 2003 face. That wall kept filling until late into the night.

The overall atmosphere was not only warm, but also overflowing with laughter. Even alumni who work in different fields — teachers, entrepreneurs, civil servants, private employees, and parents managing a small business — turned out to share the same humor about the same experiences. That, perhaps, is the most beautiful outcome of a gathering like this.

Not merely a Reunion

As the sun set on 20 September 2026, the Jeep was starting to be loaded again. The last photo session ended, the board was wrapped, and Villa Jeje16 returned to silence. But nobody left empty-handed: everyone went home with a full stomach, tired legs, and a phone full of new photos to upload to the group chat.

Class of 2003 of Pondok Modern Arrisalah Slahung proved once more that a batch is not just a list of numbers in a yearbook. It is a network that stays standing even when distance stretches across provinces. And in Sukabumi this weekend, that network was alive and well — loud, warm, and completely unforgettable.
